"I wish to recommend highly the work of artist Frank Devine. I met Mr. Devine at a wood carving exhibition, and was drawn to his sculptures immediately.
 
I had in mind a Native American design as a sign for my expressive arts studio, but had only a rough drawing. Mr. Devine worked with me to develop the theme further, took home more developed drawing, and came back with a finished drawing. He listened to my suggesstions for refinements in this design, and was extremely generous with his time.
 
We also talked about which wood would last the longest and how it would weather. We discussed what kind of finish to put on it. He was careful to measure the space where the piece would hang and how to protect the back of the piece on the other side of the gate.
 
He completed the piece in a timely manner, and consulted with me on the hanging of it, how it would look in time, and promised to check on it for any future repair needs.
 
In addition, Mr. Devine has mended, polished, and made better bases for two rare Maconde sculptures in ebony from Tanzania for me. At all times he has gone beyond my expectations for excellent and thoughtful work. His prices are also very reasonable.
 
In short, you could not have a person easier to work with and whose artistic credentials are more impressive. I am happy to be able to vouch for him as an artist and a craftsman.
